Once again we attended the annual CRY America Gala Dinner in NYC (with special guest Arjun Rampal) where we supported our mission of child education and healthcare by donating $10,000 to Project PORD

Project PORD was first founded in 2007 in Madnapalle and Thambalapalle districts of Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh to combat the effects of poverty as a results of lack of education, health, and nutritional food. In the past decade there has been a surge in child labor, increase in school drop-out rates, and increase in child malnourishment in the area. There was also a lack of equitable resource distribution, health check ups, sanitation measures and promotion of practices like child labor and child marriage.

To fight the effects of such inequities and injustices, PORD has been developing measures to facilitate the education of the Child Labor Act, prevent child marriage, and stress the importance of education and health maintenance.

With support from CRY America and Project Kiducation, PORD can expand its efforts and enact large spread change. Since the inception of this partnership, PORD has been able to:

-Create children theater programs in 70 villages

-Organize awareness meetings for community based organizations (CBOs) and unions on topics like child labor and drop out issues

-Facilitate active training on the importance of female education and RTE Act

-Implement a monitoring system for schools and work to improve facilities, teachers' attendance, quality of midday meals, and distribution of free textbooks.

We recently attended the annual CRY America Gala Dinner in NYC where we supported Project Prayatn by donating $2000.00.

Prayatn was first founded in 2012 as a voluntary, secular, non-profit society to empower communities in Baran, Rajasthan to respond to inequality and injustice. As Prayatn developed, it began to focus on child rights issues such as education, child marriages, declining sex ratio, etc. Prayatn is a leader in grassroots operations as well as research.

CRY America began supporting Prayatn and helped it expand to over 30 villages/hamlets. CRY efforts have focused on child educationfood security and nutrition, and preventative healthcare measures like immunizations

Food Drives

Food drives are one of the most common ways that Project Kiducation raises funds and awareness. The food collected through the food drives is donated to local soup kitchens and emergency pantries, while the money collected is used for child education. Not only are we able to allow children to live their dream through the money we collect, but we spread the word about our cause to a large population.

Project Kiducation @ Stop and Shop Food Drive - Raised over $300.00

Restaurant Fundraiser

Having a fundraiser at a fundrasier is a fun and easy way to raise money. Many different restaurants participate in these, such as California Pizza Kitchen, Moe's Southwest Grill, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Red Mango and more, and they donate a portion of the bill of every person you bring/tells the place they are there for the fundraiser.

Just ask any local restaurant if they do fundraisers, set a date, and spread the word! It's as easy as that!

Project Kiducation @ California Pizza Kitchen - Raised $200.00

Project Kiducation @ Moe's Southwestern Grill - Raised $30.00

Zumba

Zumba is fun way for us to raise funds. Through Zumba events, we are able to reach a large population at once. In addition to raising funds and getting an enjoyable workout, we are also able to spread the word and give the attendees a chance to really talk to us at Project Kiducation to really understand our cause!
